“When I’m feeling the loneliness that comes with depression and anxiety it’s hard to be mindful of the larger picture. I start to feel like I’m the only person struggling with this, which isn’t true. It gives me strength to remember that other people have been through this and survived. I have a family tree hanging on my bedroom wall starting in the mid 1800s and it helps to put struggle and pain into perspective. Surely some of those people felt what I’m feeling. I’m never alone. There is light.”
