When my mind is racing, I remind myself that thoughts are just thoughts and they don't define me. Then close my eyes and take a few deep breaths to reconnect with the present moment.

When I telaise I'm lost in thought I say 'gotcha!' and it brings me back to the moment. Gotcha in a nice silly voice not too critical because i get caught up alot and that's okay!

I look at my lavender tattoo to remind myself that I am a small part of a large universe. Things bothering me today are not a reason to panic and all will pass :)

I try to remind myself that everyone has a story. Everyone is going through something. Some worse than others just as much as I may need a shoulder to lean on at times someone else may need the exact same. So I try not to take anything for granted.

I focus on how things really feel: the screen I’m typing on, the pen in my hand, the paper I’m writing on, the mug in my hand. We do things so passively sometimes, it’s nice to actually pay attention to things.

I look at the details of the trees as I walk by. I also look at the details of street lamps. We pass these things all the time but never really pay particularly close attention to them.
