Honestly, a 30 minute walk listening to music or podcasts. If it rains, even better. This is usually in the afternoon for me.

Remembering I choose how to handle things that are in my control. Stressors out my control- have no place in my mind “give those to god” to whatever higher power you believe in. All we have is this moment, we have now. The “nows” turn into days, years-your life. So appreciate this minute xoxo

Sundays always really get me down and run up my anxiety. This Sunday I decided that I would sit down and make a plan for each day after work. Something to look forward to and do so that work doesn’t run my life

Sometimes I'm woken up by intruding anxious thoughts. What I'm trying to do more is to acknowledge these thoughts and then kind of give myself a pep talk to calm myself down so I can go back to sleep, instead of ignoring my thoughts altogether.

I know it’s weird but every day I stop for a second — not necessarily meditating — and try to focus on the sensations in my body. If I feel anxiety in my chest I focus on my breath, if my body is sore I take a walk outside where I’m surrounded by trees and focus on their details, if I am tense I do yoga and am mindful of my body, feeling, and poses in my environment.

I try to remember that I control what is “on my plate”. That is my stuff to deal with and nobody else has the power to clean that plate. Don’t overload your plate or you will get stuck and the plate will overflow!!!!!!

I tell myself whenever things start going wrong that I'm STRONG for getting out of bed in the when it feels like hell. I'm BRAVE for doing things which scare me or make me anxious. I'm AMAZING for TRYING and HOLDING ON no matter how hard life gets..

My clients hate mindfulness because it’s not scientific enough for them. They are a group of adults in drug treatment court. What are some engaging ways to help them implement mindfulness? They hate both meditation and yoga!
