A coworker introduced me to the “countdown” method of coping with anxiety using mindfulness. I’ve found it pretty useful: When I’m having an anxiety spell, I try to break it by tuning in to my surroundings and naming 5 things I can see, 4 things I can feel, 3 things I can hear, 2 things I can smell, and 1 thing I can taste. By focusing on my environment, I’m able to calm my mind.

I changed the background on my phone to be a positive mantra so that every time I unlock my phone I see it and am reminded to be present. 🌻

If you can’t change a situation then what’s the point in complaining? Try and get rid of unnecessary negativity in your life.

I have a habit of catastrophic thinking and assuming things won’t work out. I am now in the homestretch of a project I never thought I could actually pull off being finished and it’s really something I’m proud of. Today, I am going to practice talking about it in positive, optimistic ways, rather than dismissing it as potentially not working out!

I talk to Jesus on my way to work. As Him to prepare me for my day, to equip me with what I’ll need for the day, express my worries to Him. Every time something comes up throughout the day that makes me anxious I start talking to Him again asking Him to guide me. I lean on Him more now than ever.

If I feel myself getting anxious/hyperventilating, I take ten deep breaths and zone out. I think about what I can control in that situation and what I can’t. It makes me sane.

Try to think about how I would react if someone said the the things that I say to others to me. It put it in perspective how to treat others.

Remembering it’s okay to say “no” to family members, friends, etc., especially when they try to cross your boundaries😌🌱 It’s okay to say “yes” when an opportunity is positive and right🌷

I make a goal of doing one thing for others (holding a door) and one thing for myself (face mask) and that helps me feel like a better person and feel like I accomplished something. It can just be a small thing.

Try to feel my environment, the textures of my clothes on my skin, the smells around me, looking at the people around me, breath and just think about what I see and feel physically in the moment.

I don't usually do resolutions but this year I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna be more concious of what I think, eat and also try to become more hippy like :)

I'm trying to get into the habit of meditating at least once a day. Meditating in the morning really helps me stay more positive and mindful throughout the day.

I try to keep reminding myself that whatever it is will pass. I think about the fact that I’m healthy and I can handle whatever it is even if I’m internally struggling
