When something starts overwhelming me, I just think about a time when the same situation happened and how it turned out ok in the end. It really lets me calm down and refocus.

I find my therapy in taking photos & posting to Instagram. There’s something about getting outside (even if it’s the same place) & noticing the light or the shadow, a tree, a plane in the sky. My dogs get me out initially and then the natural world draws me into simply noticing & admiring all around me. This is being present & mindfulness to me. @terre_bonne

I wear crystals in a necklace around my neck. I change them each day for how I’m feeling. Amthyst for anxiety, Rose Quartz for self love. It’s symbolic for me and gives me something to physically grasp when I’m trying to be present in the moment.

I try and make everything a moment of meditation.When I wash dishes, I focus on scrubbing away all the negativity accumulated at dinner time. When I shower, I scrub away all the pain and negative energies. If something becomes inconvenient for me, I turn it into an opportunity to meditate on it and turn it into something I can benefit from.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to stay mindful lately. Life is very chaotic and scattered therefore my brain is scattered and chaotic. This too shall pass!

I was going to court one morning and the rain was coming down hard. I was wearing flats and completely nervous as I pulled in. As I was walking, my feet were cold and wet. I was beginning to complain and feel frustrated but then I stopped. I turned the situation into a moment of cleansing. I used the water to cleanse my feet and body of all anxiety and fear. I used the cold to remind myself of the present moment and to focus on what I was to do. Before I knew it, I didn’t feel the cold anymore.

I try to be objective when something triggers a negative emotional reaction. Would speaking up and confronting someone on how their actions made me feel be beneficial? or can I just remind myself that my feelings in this moment are valid, I honour them, and then I let them go and find peace and positivity within myself and move on? Usually it's the latter. Other people don't control you. Even if they think they do.

Touching base with my husband and chatting about how we feel and whats going on really keeps me grounded and helps me remember who I am and what I am doing, despite my troubles with anxiety and depression
