i wanted to share something my therapist gave me. she took out a pack of tic-tacs, and poured a few onto a tissue. she popped one in her mouth and started describing it. red is her favourite flavour. she described the texture changing after sucking on it. she told me to try it. she said to me, when i’m feeling overwhelmed, to have a tic tac and to think about that damn tic tac! so, now i carry around a pack of mindfulness tictacs to keep me grounded and in the moment :)

I start every day in thought and reminding myself it’s a brand new day no matter what. I reset my brain. I choose to have a good outlook. I choose to have a fantastic day despite what might be ahead. Yesterday is behind me and nothing matters but what is in front of me.

Wake up, sip water, do some yoga, try to meditate, listen to affirmations or nice music whilst getting ready for work. Makes me feel good. Avoid social media first thing as it always makes me feel worthless

I want to live, not just survive. I am learning to support myself in taking chances. I can do this. Setbacks are nothing compared to what I've been through. It's all in being aware of the negatives my mind wants to spew. So each day I focus on moving forward out of my prison. It's astounding how once I started listening to myself I realized how powerful a force my thinking is. Either for destruction or support.

I started crying in the middle of meditation. I rarely cry and it surprised me. I don't know if I feel better now, but it definitely was something

My mind races constantly, spin class at the gym chills me out for hours. Exercise is now mandatory for me.

I like going for long walks in solitude. Even more so in the cold weather. I find it very purifying and satisfying.

This has been the weirdest year... yet I’ve grown so much. I got my appendix surgically removed, went through my first breakup, got a lead role in the musical, and I’m doing well in school and my anxiety is at a low. Overall, I’m doing well. Things really can improve despite some bad times. Stay positive everyone!!

I put all my social media apps on the third page of my phone and it’s helping me not check them so frequently. Only the essentials are on the main page. Health related apps are on the second.

I look at positive and uplifting quotes and videos on Facebook and Instagram and share them with my friends. I also write the quotes down on post-it notes and put them on my wall to look at everyday.
