I stay mindful by taking time to remember that I am not what has happened to me, I am what I make myself

When i start thinking about an event that will be happening more than a week out, I calm myself and fous on what i need to do now.

My partner is grumpy at the moment, it makes me feel anxious and grumpy as well. I can mindfully walk past that though, acknowledge the feelings, but let them pass me by and get back to what I was doing to improve my mood much faster.

I will fight for myself. I will fight for myself. I will fight for myself. I will fight for myself. I will fight for myself. I will fight for myself.

Whenever I can, I try to take some time to sit somewhere quiet, and be cognizant about how my body feels. I label each feeling in each part of my body, whether that’s a really bad headache or slight hunger, and just let them be.

All of the time I spend dwelling on the past is time I could be using to make things better now.

I like to think about the world. How it was created, how we have just the perfect amount of oxygen to survive, how advanced technology has gotten throughout the years... it’s truly amazing if you think about it! And it’s all because of God. It’s crazy to know that the man who created the planets, the sun, the mountains, and the oceans, created you too😊

I stay mindful by getting into the moment when I pet my beautiful dog, Lilly. I close my eyes as I rub her ears and focus on the softness of her fur and how good it feels to be connecting with her. And it's interesting because it seems like she can tell when I'm petting her mindfully and when I'm not. She seems so much more happier when I am. It's a real connection with my chocolate lab/collie.

I meditate for at least 3 minutes everyday, 3 minutes doesn’t sound like much but when I don’t do my 3 minutes before work I really feel my anxiety coming through. I also try to stay in the present every day if I feel my mind wondering. Another thing I practise is if I start to feel my anxiety take over I go outwards and take interest in someone else, being more in the present and more interested in something other than my own thoughts.

I think sometimes it's good for me to appreciate what I feel without judging it because in the moment I recognize an emotion I can't change it anyway. I can simply wonder how much so little can mean because those emotions I wonder the most about are usually those I expected to be so little. 😌

remind myself of not taking anything for granted and to focus on the people who love me and show me love rather than focus on people who only drain my energy and keep taking without giving.

I put myself in nature where we as all living beings started out. Think about all the technology and industrialization our modern world has created? We no longer live to survive. Everything is handed to us. No longer in touch with nature, but with phones and who has more likes than who. So when I put myself out in nature I feel at peace. I think about my surroundings and take it all in.
