I’ve set a goal to only look at social media twice a day. I was spending so much time looking at other people’s lives, that I wasn’t present in my own. I think it’s also better for my self esteem to stop comparing myself to the “best” parts of everyone else’s lives that they choose to put on social media. That’s never the whole picture, but I tend to forget that.

Whenever I'm having a less than amazing day, I draw a smiley face on my leg using two freckles as eyes. It reminds me to be happy and thankful for all that I have.

What helps me stay mindful is to accept what is or what has happened and try not to dwell on the “what if’s” of a situation and move forward 👍🏼🌻🙏🏼

I created a dedicated meditation space in a corner of a room in my house. It helps me get into a calm mindset when I sit down there and it works better than when I’d try to meditate wherever i happened to be.

I pay attention to the details of what I say and try to frame things in a positive way. Not just my perspectives on situations, but how I phrase things I want or need to do. I little kindness and gentleness doesn’t hurt in a lot of situations, and cultivates a more positive interaction.

I will try to note when my actions are irrational and when they seem to start to affect others in a negative way. I'm still trying to balance this and people-pleasing though.
