Remember, you don’t have to climb a mountain today, you just have to take the first step.

I’m learning to sit with my anxiety instead of trying to pretend it doesn’t exist, or that I’m a failure for feeling it. Anxiety is real — but the feelings are temporary.

Today I was going through a rough patch and I reminded myself that I can handle the situation, took some deep slow breaths, and kept giving myself a mental pep talk til it passed

I remind myself to stop thinking in absolutes and permanence. There is life and hope after every mistake and every set back.

If I feel Sad or anxious, my body is trying to alert me to something. Instead of running away from it, listen to it. Be present with how you feel all the time. Validate your feelings.

Checking in my mood on this app actually really helps me. It lets me think about how I’m feeling and reflect on what happened during the day.

I’m a generally wound up and tense person, but I’m able to stay mindful by trying to notice when my muscles (fists, abs, pelvic floor, or legs) tense up. When you notice your body is distressed without physical agitation, there’s usually an emotion not being accepted.

When something is stressing me out I try to ask myself ‘what can I do about it right this second to help the situation?’ It makes me focus on what really needs to be done one thing at a time. Instead of all the things that need to be done. If nothing can be done in the moment but can be done later I make lists. Check things off as I go!

Sometimes when I feel like I’m not living in the moment, I take a moment to acknowledge my 5 senses. I acknowledge and appreciate 3 things I feel, hear, see, smell, and taste. It really helps me feel in touch with my body and my surroundings

I think the reason I’ve been scared of adulthood is because it seems like you just stop learning lessons, like your life is done before it’s over. Maybe it’s just that people get tired of learning lessons. But to me that’s not living. I never wanna stop learning about myself, the good and the bad.
