I take time to recognize colors. It keeps me present. All things Red, Orange, Yellow, etc. One at a time. It's amazing all the things we DON'T see, every day

I usually read my bible. Being in Gods word and trying to understand it helps me be mindful of others, my feelings, good, and God working in my life.

In case no one told you today:
 You’re beautiful. You’re loved. You’re needed. You’re alive for a reason.
You’re stronger than you think. You’re going to get through this.
I’m glad you’re alive. Don’t give up!

If I feel uncomfortable or grumpy I usually do a HALT check. It stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. Those are the 4 common things that can make a person feel off, and it helps me realize what's throwing my mood off, so that I can take care of the issue.

By acknowledging my surroundings a few times a day. Where am I? What am I doing? What are my emotions and thoughts? What am I feeling, seeing, tasting, smelling, or touching? More importantly than the whats comes the whys. Knowing why helps me to know who I am, have purpose, recognize God, and find joy in my daily life.

Separating myself from my desk and taking a walk on lunch. Finding a well lit area with comfy seating and looking out the window. Meditating, and reminding myself to slow down.

After a really awful experience with a psychologist recently I’ve decided to take my mental health in my own hands, I’ve started using a diary/planner to plan my weeks out, what I’ll do, what I eat, track my exercise and mindfulness, it’s really helping I definetly recommend

I have a German Shepherd. He's never been trained to sense my moods, but we've bonded so much that he can tell when I'm having a good day or an extremely bad one. His attitude changes depending on how I feel when I get home. If it's a good day, he brings me a toy. If it's a bad day he follows me everywhere and cuddles on the couch with me. He's such an amazing dog. I don't know what I'd do without him. I recommend anyone with anxiety/depression to get a dog. He helps me stay grounded.

Sometimes, when my mind is feeling extremely cluttered and I start to feel overwhelmed with things in life; I pick a small area in my house which has become as cluttered as my mind over time, and I work through the items piece by piece (either binning them or finding a purposeful place to put them instead. When I have completely decluttered the area, I add something beautiful (like some flowers or a plant) in place of the clutter so that when I walk past it, it lightens both my mind and mood 🌼
