I disconnect from social media for a while, to connect to my life. I go outside and if I can, I go near nature. Grounding is so important.

I try to remember what flight attendants remind us about losses of cabin pressure. They ask that you place your mask before assisting others because, ultimately, we cannot effectively help or protect anyone else if we do not take the time to ensure that we are nourished and well. It is okay to take the time and energy to rest, to meditate, to find joy for myself because then I can reach out and share with the people close to me.

I’m trying to be nice to myself. I’ve hated my body, my personality, and everything about myself for so long, but recently I’ve been going easy on myself. Telling myself it’s okay that I skipped school today because I need to take a break. Telling myself that I am beautiful. And just things like that

I just started using the app to be more mindful. I also set an alarm on my phone to ring once an hour for 10 periods throughout the day. This way I have a reminder to take a few minutes for myself each day and can hopefully turn this into a habit without the alarms.

I listen to music, and I really try to here everything. I listen to each instrument, every melody, every beat. I try to follow everything at once. Eventually the whole world drops away and it’s just me and the song, enfolding me. When I come back to the real world I’m calm, focused, and ready for whatever the day has left.

Yoga, walking, sitting outside, meditation...all good ways for me to ease my mind. Today I sat on a bench at the dog park and it helped me gain mental clarity on a situation I’ve been facing. Yoga is also in the plans for tonight. It’s great for the body and the mind 😊

Do everything you do with intent and purpose. Even if it's small things like doing your make up. If you have self-care in mind it make up becomes more important and special. It helps you with doing nice things for yourself and finding the positive in everything.

When I feel overwhelmed or stressed I ask myself “what’s right now” and make a list of things happening around me/things I’m grateful for. It grounds me and refocuses my attention
