Mindfulness Meditations for Stress Relief

I am aware of my limitations and abilities. It is not my goal to tear myself down and dwell in my misfortunes. Rather, my aim is to build myself up and to continue to progress in a healthier and more positive way. It is not my experiences that define me but how I choose to handle them which define my character. I choose to be kind to myself despite the level of control I have over certain circumstances. ♥

Here’s a mindfulness exercise I just came up with- I lay with my ear against my sleeping dog and match my inhalations and exhalations to his. Then just focus my awareness on our shared breath. It sounds silly, but it’s incredibly soothing.

I saw something today that read as follows (more or less): “doing your best doesn’t mean working so hard that you sacrifice yourself”. I will remember this and try to find a healthier balance.

Today, I cleaned my living room thoroughly and put the Christmas decorations up! I felt terrible this morning and I felt so much better by making myself get up and do something productive 🙂

I stay mindful by meditating, surrounding myself with positivity, and even just by simply listening to music can make me sensible

Realized today that our moods are often decided by what activity we are doing and the environment we are in. If we chose a healthy activity/environment that makes us happy (& that doesn't harm others and is good for us long term) then perhaps we can have more control over our mood!

Just come back to the feeling of feet on the floor: solid, grounded, real, now. It takes just a few seconds.

I listen to my Daily Bread every morning on my smart phone. It inspires me, and keeps me thinking on God's terms.

Today I made the conscious decision to get out of bed and go for a walk. And instead of getting on social media I am reading.

How do you separate your mental health feelings from your physical feelings? Often I don’t know how to honestly rate my mood, because I feel physically exhausted, but mentally well, but the exhaustion is such that it pulls me down!

i try to focus on my breath in times of stress. notice where it’s coming from, how deep it is, and how quick are the intervals between inhale and exhale. scanning my body for any tension and just noticing how it feels helps me stay mindful and grounded
