Sometimes to ease my anxiety my depression gets me thinking how nothing I do will ever matter. And I like to turn it around to mean that nothing matters so why not do it anyway. Keeping myself mindful that none of my failures are new, that everyone has been there at some point, so why not go ahead and try my best.

I like taking mindful walks out in nature when the weather is warmer. I try to quiet my thoughts and focus on the sights and smells, the weight of my footsteps, the feeling of the wind on my skin. It always makes me feel more at peace.

I tell myself I will be okay. That no matter what happens I will get through it like all those other times.

Journal, journal, journal! It is a source of watching your progress and it is yours alone....if you don't like what you write rip it up, burn it....but just get it out so you can focus your mind on moving forward.

I'm always so focused/stressed about tomorrow and the future. I need to actively work on how I can better myself TODAY, instead of spending my days worrying.

Something I like to do when I start to have bad thoughts is to think reasonably. Some thought are just extreme so when I talk them down, I realize that it's not real it's just my anxiety.

Today I went to my first women’s support group for sobriety and it was the greatest thing in helping me step out of my comfort zone and as a part of me getting better and moving forward And I believe it can be beneficial for me to continue to go once a week if not more

Reading helps me stay mindful. I keep focused on the story to not let my mind wonder to things I don’t need to worry about.

When I finished overtime and realized I was in the same circle of depression/anxiety/loneliness, I tried to switch my mind to something or someone interesting or warm or genuine, currently it is Rich Mullins and his songs and testimonials. Such a fun guy! Thinking about him and his life makes me beware how one’s life can be inspiration to another human being. He may or may not know his legacy but what God did in his life was amazing.
