Progress is being made when you are aware of the storm inside of you and yet you manage to remain calm, as it passes by.

I have avoided being mindful lately. I suspect it is because I was having emotional pain and didn't want to feel all of it. Last night I watched "The Big Sick" and it helped me access the edges of my sadness and disappointment. Then I ventured a little deeper in. It hurt but it wasn't as painful as I feared.

Listen to your needs. Keep checking how you feel and what will make you feel good right now and just do it.

I tried listening to classical music while being mindful for the first time yesterday. It's a great switch up from the breathing I usually do.

I take a moment to breathe. I stop whatever I'm doing and just breathe for a moment. I take time to simply exist.

Whenever I say something negative, especially about myself, I tell myself "no thats not true" and I proceed to tell myself the opposite or reassure myself. Its mentally challenging, but its been helping me somehow.

I think about how I can bring joy not only to my life but to another persons life, especially someone in need!

I try to remember that when people say hurtful things to others, it is really a reflection of themselves. I picture a wall between me and their negativity.

I've always loved my long hair, but this year I decided I wanted a change and I'm currently scheduling an appointment to get my hair cut short (just a little passed shoulder length). I feel like it'll be a healthy change for me, in a way I'm sort of shedding my miserable self and with my new hair I'm gonna try and rock everyday. Even though it's a small change, I feel like it can do me some good💇

To constantly remind yourself to never let the little things upset you! If you can't control it, then you can't change it. Keep on keeping on.

Recognizing when my mood begins to go downhill and to do something about it (sit outside, take a shower, eat, drink water, go for a walk, journal, call someone).

I try to observe my surroundings as a way to stay present and mindfull in the moment. I guess I try to find my inner child, the one who thinks pinecones and different coloured leaves are fascinating.
