Trying to leave open the small "bored" spaces in each day to think. No phone, no internet, just watching the world around me and being present.

I realise I'm being mindful when I take pleasure in simple things, a cool breeze when it's hot, or enjoying the smell of a strong coffee. I've realised that it doesn't have to be a real effort to be mindful and that lots of small things add up to feeling better even when other things that happen are hard work to deal with.

-it’s ok if you accomplish things “more slowly” than other people
- it’s ok if you find difficultly in what others consider “easy”
- it’s ok if you fall behind, you will still reach your destination

This app, as well as the meditation app Aura, and the app Happify. All three apps allow me to target different areas of my stress, anxiety and fears. Highly recommended for various approaches!

Just be present. Focus on the presence of the very moment. Don't worry about tomorrow, the far future or the past! Soak in today's moment.

It's amazing how small things can really change a persons mood. Like it's been hard with the final stages of my relapse getting use to being happy again but it's the little things that are making me happy to wake up each day with me getting eclipse glasses for tomorrow, Taylor Swift possible coming out with a new album, and my job starting back up (I ref soccer games). Some people never get why I get excited about stuff like that but it's because it gives me a reason to smile and enjoy life.

I really want to start a mindful routine and try and do it as soon as I wake up, before bed and when I can take a break during the day

I have this notebook called the Happiness Planner. Not only does it let you organize your schedule for the day & week, but it gives insightful quotes & asks questions that make you reflect on yourself. For instance, "What have you achieved so far that you're proud of?" or "Who would you like to see more often?" It's really helped me to be more aware and learn about myself.
