I took a yoga class one time and the teacher said, "I know exactly where you're supposed to be in your life and exactly what you're supposed to be doing." I remember feeling annoyed and my immediate judgment was that she had never even met me before so how could she possibly know. Then she said, "you're supposed to be right here, in this room, doing yoga with me. How do I know that? Because you are right now." I always remind myself: Right here, in this moment, you are where you are meant to be.

Notice thoughts and feelings like a train coming into a station. Notice them as they come and then let them leave while you stay on the platform, waiting for the next train to come.

Breathe in for 4 seconds. Hold for 7 seconds. Breathe out for 8 seconds. This is very effective for calming down😇

when you track your mood it really helps at least for me to select all of the feelings I'm feeling. It's almost like each bad feeling goes away as I select it or help you realize what you are feeling at that moment. Once I know how I'm feeling it lowers my anxiousness down because I can understand why I am upset

I have a silver dollar that I always keep with me. I use it like a stone, focusing on the different textures. The soft smooth bumps and rough ridges. It helps me center myself. It's also good for helping my narrow choices.

I stay mindful my making an effort to stay off my phone during certain parts of the day and by really noticing and enjoying my food.

I am using the noting technique to good effect. When I note, "I am experiencing a feeling of...", I feel like there is a little bit of space between me and the feeling, and it gives me room to breathe.

I am important. It's okay to be scared. I am not worthless. I can take my time to move past an issue. Others judgement does not define me. Crying is therapeutic. Taking a breather from people is perfectly okay. Take a break from whatever you are doing, but make sure to try and get back it the next day. I can treat myself and not feel guilty. My fears are not illogical. Try something new that won't completely exhaust you even if it is just taking a shower or ordering take out. You matter <3

Toolbox: 6 of many. Using a stone or pebble as a metaphor for grounding, touching the earth and connecting with it. A tree can sway in a storm but the roots remain firm because they are grounded in the earth. In times of trouble, going back to the interconnectedness of the earth helps to keep us upright in our personal storms.

I got new pet Praying Mantises this weekend. I have to stay in the moment because they rely on me. It was been a lot of fun watching and taking care of them. I'm glad they make me smile. 🖤🐜

Toolbox: 7 of many. Mountain, Corpse or any of the cross-legged poses are immensely helpful in aiding mindfulness. Each has it's own benefit based on the intracies of the pose. Simple and always available.
