I like to start my day with a 5 minute mindful walk. I like the feel the early morning has. Everything is quiet and naturally mindful in and of itself.

I thought about how I was doing everything this morning, having a bath, washing dishes etc so I was taking notice of things I usually do on autopilot

Asking myself, what can I hear, what can I smell, what can I taste, what can I touch, what can I see? It's also a relaxation technique x

Whenever I am doing something, I always check the things that are surrounding me. I try to notice the light, the temperature or simply how I live the particular moment. This helps me to be in the now.

I enjoy mindful cooking. There are so many senses to focus on, and it helps to get food at the end

I have to constantly remind myself that people aren't trying to offend or hurt me. Sometimes it just happens and it doesn't mean anything. What people say is more of a reflection of them than myself.

I like to sing or play an instrument, either piano or guitar. When i play music i shut everything else out and live in the moment. I'm feeling everything.

I try to gently bring my mind back to the present if I find myself either dwelling on the past - be it something that happened ten minutes or ten years ago - or on the future. I have found that being mindful this way has really reduced my stress level! 😌

To be mindful I try to notice when my heart starts to race that's what I feel first, then if I don't notice my heart, I notice my tone. At that point I walk away and do some deep breathing and ask probing questions. Such as is this worth getting so upset over, why am I so upset, can I do this differently than I have, most importantly how can I approach the situation positively.
