Deleting Instagram was the best thing I've done. Starting every single day comparing myself to other people had such a negative impact

I practice being mindful of my emotions by using these 5 journal prompts: What is the name of the emotion? Draw the emotion. What sound best describes this emotion? What is the intensity of the emotion? And lastly, finish these sentences: "This emotion makes me think..." and/or "This emotion makes me think about..."

Simply going out for a walk in the park or the woods. Being around nature when it's quiet and my mind is frantic really helps me refocus 🌲🍃

I'm not super spiritual and I don't meditate but I think a way of being mindful is being always aware and sensitive to other people feelings. And being kind.

Sometimes I feel like I really am relax but then when I actually look at myself I need to pull my shoulders down, relax my jaw, stop contracting my belly so I can breath with no restriction ... It's hard to stay in the present moment but when you realized that you were not in the present, you are now :)

Getting in touch with my senses is always a great distraction. 5 things you see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you hear, 2 things you smell and 1 thing you can taste.

I rode my bike to work today for the first time in ages😳🙈 I was nervous at first that people would stare at me, that I might fall off or look stupid but whilst I was on the bike I felt a relief like a sense of freedom and adventure, even if I was only going to work.. I felt independent and free.

As an Artist I like to focus on different colours and textures of objects etc around me. It helps remind me to stay present and know there is a little beauty in everything. 🌸

I remind myself that new behaviors always feel bad or awkward at the beginning. It doesn't feel normal yet. Let's be gentle with ourselves until these positive choices begin feeling normal.

I live by the ocean, so I try to make time to just look at it and listen to the waves each day. The natural cadence of the waves calms my mind.
