The older I get, the more I realize the past and future are both projections our mind makes. Time gets distorted through our memory, making things feel longer or shorter away on the whims of our mind. The only thing of which we can be truly sure is the present moment. The truest way to honor the present moment is to live in it. Breathing helps me shed my notions about past and present, and to honor this moment right now.

Over time I have created an image that helps me to visualize: I'm on a moving walkway (like a treadmill or a long conveyor belt). It's turned on, so I have to stand with my feet on the edges that don't move to stay "here" in the present. If I step on, I'm going into the future, and if I let my mind reverse it when I step on, I'm going into the past. I try to stick to the sides and see time moving behind or ahead of me but I just focus on the "here," not moving.

I often think to far ahead and end up stressing out about stuff that hasn't even happened yet or stuff I can't control. Just practicing staying in the moment and appreciating all the little things around me.

I try and be mindful of my breathing when I feel stressed or anxious. I also like the analogy of stepping back and watching your worries float past like leaves on a stream. I also like using the 'Pause' app. It's really simple but always relaxes me.

I am a good, smart person, who is capable of many things. Just because someone is better at me doing something I like doesn't make me any less. Life is not a competition.

I've started filling my head with positive sayings like "you can do this" "you're important" "you're opinions do matter" it helps a lot. I'm trying to start loving myself instead of feeling like a failure.

First thing I like to do when I wake up is open the blinds to let in the light and make the bed to start of the day on the right foot. Also looking outside while drinking my coffee b4 using any social media

I enjoy listening to sounds to stay mindful. Just sitting down, closing your eyes, and letting life sing to me offers me some grounding in my life. I especially like the sound of the heater, the laundry running, and my own breathing. I sometimes like doing the same exercise, but using a different sense exclusively. (Smell is fun)

While I brush my teeth in the morning and at night, I set a 5 minute timer and repeat positive affirmations for myself. I usually take 3 minutes to brush and I use the last 2 minutes to repeat out loud my most powerful affirmations. I do it while I look in the mirror, to remind myself that I am powerful and I am making progress. It has really helped keep me in better spirits. And when I find myself struggling later in the day, I find a mirror, breathe deeply and repeat my affirmations.

The little things in life really make you who you are! The small hellos or goodbyes or simply a smile can really cheer someone up! Know that your not alone and that someone may be going through the same problems you may be going through! Nature, grass, flowers ..AIR! Help you live with peace and happiness ๐Ÿ˜Š

I did three of the mindfulness exercises in relax now and I feel so much better then I did this morning. I feel in the present moment and like I can accomplish things that I set my mind to. Basically I really recommend them. โ˜บ

The fact that I'm very close to getting my degree keeps me sane everyday. I'm so over doing all these research requirements when research is the last thing I'm interested in. But it'll come in handy & get me where I need to be for my master's degree.

I practice meditation most mornings for 5-19 minutes and have found it very helpful for my anxiety. I'm recently trying out the headspace app which seems pretty good.
