The most beautiful moments in life are seeing a smile on a person's face and knowing that you have contributed to his/her happiness

Just because the past didn't turn out like you wanted it to, doesn't mean your future can't be better than you ever imagined....

Writing down my intentions for the day and what I am grateful for is a great way I ground myself in the morning.

I stay mindful by always reminding myself to focus on my breath - for my breath is always present, it is not in the past, nor the future. & being present in the present is much better for the soul than looking back or looking forward.

Last week I attended Yom Kippur services. Now I'm not a religious person and I've got a complex relationship with God. But it's been a tough year and I wanted some guidance and relief. So as I gave myself to the service and my culture (if only for 2 days) I made a promise to myself: I'm going to be a better version of myself. No more lying. No more negativity. Let go of things I can't control. Be kinder. I'm not sure where I am or if it's possible, but here's to a new year!

Some people pass through our lives in a shorter time frame than we had hoped to teach us things theү never could have taught if they staүed...

I learned how not to bite my nails by taking better care of them / painting them. I'm hoping to learn how to stop pulling my hair out in the same way - by not touching my hair/face/neck at all. Today was my first day with it, and I did okay.

I always try to keep in mind that I have a family that loves me dearly and who accept me for what I'm going through.

I remind myself I'm only human, everyone has there own pace. Just because I have troubles in socialization a doesn't mean I'm a bad person, or that I'm stupid. It means I've been hurt far to many times to let my guard down.

I'm taking a big step tomorrow by giving up alcohol one day a week. I need to start practicing more mindfulness and self care. I've got the tools, now I just need to commit to using them daily until I don't feel the need to numb out with a few beers.

I remind myself to be present in the moment & to live the day. My biggest downfalls that which gives me anxiety/depression are when I fall back into reliving my past & fearing the future. Dogs always live in the present; they don't worry about tomorrow or dying. They are my best friends, give me comfort & fill in the blanks in my life. ☺️

Started to do a few minutes of meditation each day. Trying to control the random thoughts in my mind is difficult at the moment though.

I like to observe others and sketch them in a way that excentuates their good parts. It helps me see that I can have good parts and that people see them.
