Today I'm mindful of "space." I cleaned the bathroom and feel good about my efforts. The space surely "feels" better, too. In this way, I'm "respecting" my house, one room a day.

I learned that mindfulness is to be present in the moment as peaceful & safely as possible. Stress, depression, & anxiety are wounded mechanisms of our body wanting to stay safe & substract its owner from perceived dangerous situation. It's important to remember that it's only that: a wounded mechanism, not a fault of one's character to run away from or to despise oneself resentfully.

When I feel mindless instead if mindful, I check in with my 5 senses and describe to myself what I am feeling.

Using the senses is a really helpful way to stay in the moment and avoid drifting off into destructive thoughts. Lavender oil for smell, hot tea for taste, fuzzy blankets for touch, fun art pieces for sight, and white noise machines for sound is how I keep mindful! :)

I want to make a vision board/inspiration board to remind me of what is important to me! It's so easy to get overwhelmed by life and forget what you truly want. I can look at it everyday and be at peace. And it will be a fun craft to make :)

Using an app like this one or Smiling Mind (or both, really) has taught me so much! You don't need to meditate for an hour to get results. 5 minutes lying alone in a dim room with music or soothing sounds and just letting my mind wander did more for me than the 10 years of therapy I've had.

I try to be mindful of what I need to be healthy in my soul. I love to care for myself. I love meditations and doing yoga when I feel stress.

If I feel like I'm losing it, I go outside to ride a bike. Usually I go to the park, I enjoy the sounds and views around me... I take deep breaths and smile to strangers passing by. Sometimes I stop and sit on the bench, listen to the music. For me all this is like a "restart" button!
