I obsess and ruminate about past events that were quite traumatic on a daily basis and then over plan/overthink the future, but today it dawned on me that I can't change the past and can't live in the future. All I have is now. And for some reason that thought grounded me and I finally felt what it's like to be "in the moment". It's like looking through a new pair of eyes! 😍

Please keep the victims of the Orlando shooting in mind, especially since it is Pride Month. What happened last night devastates me as about 50 people were killed just because they were gay. We can't let this become a vague part of history! This shooting is the worst in America's history. It has nothing to do with Islam but really homophobia. This event terrifies me because we know that people still can't accept other's differences. So, please keep them in mind. Be safe.

At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.

Realization that I can do something to better the world/society, even if it's something small and seemingly insignificant. The past is gone and it can't hurt me anymore; so I let gratitude flood through me, and my racing heart slows. In this moment I am thankful. ❤

I make sure to connect with nature. It grounds and reconnects me with now.

I have a mantra to top off every morning. For example, 'I am kind' or 'I am positive minded'. I will repeat this saying to me throughout the day

I stay mindful each day by trying to control my mind rather than let it control me.

Mindful with details... Take a moment to look around your surroundings and notice the small things. It could be your friends, your family, or the simple patterns of your bathroom tile.

Today, I learned the downside of negative thoughts I have on both myself and others. I literally forgot my number that I punch out everyday at work. I wasn't stressed. I was just very negative internally about a situation today.
