Mindfulness Meditations for Stress Relief

Breathe. You've been here before, just remind yourself of your surroundings, your senses. Just stop and breathe, it won't take long, maybe even sip a drink or walk but remember to breathe as it will be alright.

You never know other peoples life journeys, I try to remember that when meeting others. Really we are all not that different.

I like to pick out 3 things I can smell, see, hear, feel, maybe taste at any present moment. This helps especially if I'm feeling anxious.

A good piece of advice I received: pick out one beautiful thing each day and take a moment to stare at it or photograph it or breathe it in

When I feel my mind start to wander, I practice mindfulness by actively engaging my senses. I look at my surroundings, I smell the air, I sense the warmth on my skin, and say "I am here."

Like the sunset, your mere existence awes so many of us, daily, without rest, without disappointment, worthy of paintings and love songs and mythology. You are not the number of mornings you did not get out of bed, not the mirrors you could not bear to face, not the days that disappeared in clouds. You are every smile you have caused, every flushed face, every burst of pride.

I wake up every morning and remind myself that life is a day at a time. Get through today and don't worry about tomorrow.

I take a walk with my dog. I focus on her and how happy she is to be outside. I love autumn to look at the trees and the leaves that have fallen. It really grounds me. ❤️

I try to keep in mind that the worst-case scenario is very rare in most situations, which helps me to relax

It is easy AND it is easy to get distracted from being present to the here and now. I think the habit that distracts me the most are self loathing messages and thoughts. The practice that helps me the most is referencing the sky - I look out of windows, up, etc to connect to the expansiveness of the sky. This helps me come back to center and now.

Think about things in the present moment that you can be thankful for. It can be something small or big. Living in gratitude helps me stay mindful because I'm always on the look out for something new to add to the list. Its a better way to keep anxious thoughts at bay and keep you in tune to the present moment.

Never go a day without learning something new: whether it the news or music. I typically go to Secular Talk and David Pakman for news, and Sargon of Akkad for philosophy discussion

When worrying, complaining, or stressing myself out, I take a moment to pause and remind myself "this is not arms and legs" It keeps me mindful of how small my problem is and that I am entirely too blessed to be stressed.

I still can't find a way to keep myself calm whenever my anxiety attacks. Any calming thoughts that i tried to tell myself, my subconcious will fight it with another problem to worry about. Is there any tips on this?
